Delivering perforation entrance holes with a uniform size and shape around the wellbore is a critical requirement for improving the fracture distribution between individual perforations. Our new family of stimulation-optimized shaped charges (“S-charges”) provides this consistency across the wellbore azimuth for a range of gun standoff distances. And uniformity is achieved without a loss of penetration depth.

With consistently larger entrance holes from S-charges, the area open to flow (AOF) for each perforation is increased, which lowers the individual perforation pressure drop and treating pressures to reduce the likelihood of early screenout.

S-charges are available in both RDX and HMX explosives and are compatible with industry-standard gun systems using the bent tab loading system to bring lower risk and higher efficiency to your fracturing operations.
